Left foot accelerator fitted to a Kia EV4 at Ferndown
Our Ferndown team fitted a twin flip folding left foot accelerator to a Kia EV4, helping a Motability customer drive comfortably and safely.
A Motability customer visited our Ferndown branch requiring driving controls adapted for their new electric Kia EV4. To allow comfortable and safe acceleration using their left foot, we supplied and installed a Jeff Gosling twin flip folding left foot accelerator.
This clever system adds a secondary accelerator pedal to the left of the brake pedal, linked to the original accelerator on the right. When the left pedal is lowered for use, the right pedal automatically flips up and out of the way to prevent accidental operation. This design allows the vehicle to be easily driven by either left-footed or standard right-footed drivers simply by switching the active pedal.
Our trained technicians completed the installation neatly without affecting the vehicle's electronic systems or safety features. Following a thorough demonstration to ensure the customer was entirely confident with the operation, the adapted Kia EV4 was ready for handover.
