Manual transfer plate fitted to a Ford Focus at Ferndown
We fitted a driver's side manual transfer plate and extended seat runners to a Ford Focus at our Ferndown workshop to simplify vehicle entry.

A customer visited our Ferndown workshop looking for easier access into the driver's seat of their Ford Focus. Transferring directly into the standard seat had become challenging, so they needed a practical solution to bridge the gap and provide extra room to manoeuvre safely when getting in and out.
Our technicians installed a driver-side Jeff Gosling manual transfer plate alongside a set of extended seat runners. The extended runners allow the driver's seat to slide back significantly further than standard, opening up crucial space for transfers. The transfer plate provides a stable, level surface between the standing position or wheelchair and the seat cushion. Once comfortably seated, the plate folds down neatly alongside the seat for driving.
With the adaptations fitted and checked by our team, the customer tried out the new setup. The combined extended seat travel and transfer plate have made entering and exiting the driver's seat far smoother and more independent.
