Powerchair battery replacement at our Ferndown branch

We replaced failed batteries on a Sunrise Medical Q500 powerchair under the Motability scheme at our Ferndown workshop.

Powerchair brought into workshop for battery testing

A Motability customer contacted our Ferndown branch after noticing their Sunrise Medical Q500 powerchair was running unusually slowly and losing battery charge quickly. We booked the chair into our workshop for a thorough inspection to determine the underlying issue.

Our technicians tested the electrical system and confirmed that the existing powerchair batteries had failed and could no longer hold a full charge. We processed a replacement request through the Motability scheme and ordered a new pair of heavy-duty AGM batteries.

Once the new batteries arrived, our team safely installed and tested them to ensure the powerchair returned to its full speed and range capability before delivering the chair back to the customer.
